MLO 1
This MLO is as follows...
MLO 1: Japanese Language and Communication
1.1 Students are able to communicate effectively in Japanese in three modes: interpersonal, interpretive, and presentational; and in a culturally appropriate manner in a variety of social and professional settings and circumstances at the Intermediate-High level of language proficiency, according to the ACTFL Guidelines.
1.2 Students gain competency in the Japanese language and linguistics including phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, and discourse. Students compare, contrast, and analyze the structural differences between Japanese and English.
1.1 Throughout my experience in the Japanese major program, I have been given many opportunities to listen to Japanese as well as present in the Japanese language. Teachers in my various classes helped me understand the communication culture of Japan.
1.2 One of the most important parts of the Japanese program was learning the Japanese language. To understand someone who speaks a different language, proper wording and sentence structure and a decent understanding of pronunciations are all very important. I was able to practice and understand all of these during my education.
